Busy lives often mean no time for sumptuous soaks in beautiful bathtubs. But when it comes to holidays and weekends away, we can definitely find an hour or two for a decadent dip. As dog parents, we often make holiday cottage decisions based on the likes and dislikes of our playful pups but that doesn’t mean we can’t opt for somewhere that offers a little bit of luxury for us humans, too. We deserve it! So here’s our pick of dog friendly destinations where you’ll be longing to ditch the dog treats and fill your travel bag with bottles of bubble bath instead.

There’s no such thing as a quick dip at Undercastle Cottage. This is one beautiful bath that demands a least an hour’s soak to fully appreciate the extent of its relaxing charms. With the windows open to take in the beautiful New Forest views, or with the lights dimmed and the candles lit to completely switch off from the world. Whatever your preference, time spent in this luxurious tub is heaven guaranteed.

This is a tub that demands to be savoured. Deep, sculptural and separated from the luxurious double shower by a rustic timber screen, it’s a showstopper. Set in the oldest barn at Retreat East, The Cow House oozes eco-luxury with its soaring beams and countryside charm. Picture this: you, a glass of something chilled and the warm flicker of candlelight bouncing off the roll top bath. Meanwhile, your pup is stretched out in front of the fire, dreaming of tomorrow’s adventure. Heaven? We think so.

Some baths are made for function. Others, like the ones in Rothay Manor’s Pavilion Suites, are made for pure indulgence. These gloriously deep, freestanding beauties practically demand you sink in, let the warm water work its magic, and forget about the outside world. Whether you’re easing weary legs after a day exploring the fells or simply soaking for the sheer joy of it, this is bathtime bliss at its finest. Fluffy robes? Of course. A chilled glass of something? Highly recommended. Your four-legged friend snoozing nearby after their own Lake District adventures? Perfection!

Now this is a bath with a personality. Not content with being confined to one space, this gleaming copper beauty gives you options. Feeling indulgent? Keep it inside the master bedroom, sink into the deep, warm water, and let candle light lull you into a state of pure bliss. Want to take things up a notch? Glide it out onto the terrace and soak beneath a canopy of stars, the crisp Devon air making the bubbles feel even more luxurious. With plush towels, complimentary toiletries and a robe so fluffy it should come with a warning, Hideout Treehouse doesn’t just offer a bath – it offers an experience.

Here’s a bathtub big enough for two, but don’t get any ideas, we’re not sharing! Look at that incredible view. Imagine watching the sunset while you soak off the sand after spending the day playing on the beach with your four-legged friend on the two mile stretch on the hotel’s doorstep. Every inch of Watergate Bay has been designed to envelope you – and your pooch – in the best of contemporary Cornish comfort. Paradise found. We’re definitely ordering room service.

This bath at Another Place The Lake is a dream. Warm copper, gloriously deep and perched beneath the window looking out on to perfect Ullswater views … it’s practically begging for a long, luxurious soak. Whether you slip in with a steaming morning coffee as the mist rises over the lake, or sink into the bubbles at sunset with a glass of something chilled, every dip feels like a little slice of heaven. And with your pup snoozing contentedly nearby – tired out from a day of Lake District adventures – you’ll have all the time in the world to soak, sip and swoon.

You might know about the gorgeous outdoor bathtub at Shepherd’s Cottage at A Corner of Eden, but did you know that there’s an equally decadent cast iron roll top indoors? Imagine it filled with bubbles, a glass of something cold and fizzy to hand and seductive tunes filling the air. We’re thinking Ella Fitzgerald. How about you? If you’re worried about leaving your pup downstairs while you unwind, don’t. There’s a perfect spot for them to snooze in front of the wood burner. They won’t miss you at all.

The four person William Holland jetted bath at The Rapids Cottage had us swooning at first sight. There’s no better outdoor destination for a decadent dip. Surrounded by beautiful greenery by day and lit up by stars at night, it’s very other-worldly. Our top tip? Set your alarm for a sunrise soak and sip on your morning cup of tea while watching the mist arising from the river below. It’s heavenly!
