Overview
All 23 bedrooms (eight of which are dog friendly) at Rothay Manor have been individually designed and feature sumptuous furnishings and luxury amenities … for your canine companion, too. While you snuggle under Egyptian cotton bedlinen and feather pillows and duvets, furry friends can curl up in their very own George Barclay dog bed for the duration of their stay. Treats are provided as a welcome touch.
No matter which standard of room you opt for, from a comfortable classic room to a more spacious garden suite with hot tub, all the dog friendly rooms are helpfully located on the ground floor.
The restaurant serves seasonally inspired British cuisine in a warm, relaxed setting. While dogs aren’t permitted in the main area, they are very welcome in the dog friendly section for both breakfast and dinner. The comfortable drawing room is also dog friendly and perfect for coffee, lunch or afternoon tea with your pooch.
Outside, there’s a gorgeous terrace to sit out on and beautiful gardens for a short stroll.
For The Dogs
As well as the loan of a George Barclay dog bed for the duration of their stay, furry friends receive a towel, bowls, treats, and biodegradable poop bags. There’s also a dedicated dog wash with Bramley Digby Dog Wash and Ruff & Tumble drying coats.

From £180 per night inclusive of breakfast, plus £25 per dog per stay.

Special Instructions
Please keep four-legged friends off the beds and the furniture. Dogs must be kept on their leads both inside the hotel and around the grounds.
The Area
With scenic Lake Windermere just a short stroll away, it would be a shame not to take advantage of all that it has to offer. Across the road from Rothay Manor, you’ll find a wonderful riverside walk to the head of the lake where pups can pad along off lead and enjoy a splash in the water. Or take a tip from the National Trust and enjoy a dog friendly day out at Claife Viewing Station on the west shore. With stunning views and lots of opportunities to paddle, pooches will love it.
