If you’re looking for a lovely alternative to your usual dog walk, how about a visit to one of the many amazing dog friendly vineyards in UK? In incredible locations with great views at every turn, not to mention the temptation of a tipple or two, often with delicious nibbles, we can’t think of a nicer way to spend a day with our four-legged friends. And if you’d like to stay over and explore a little more, we’ve added a recommendation for a dog friendly place to stay close to each vineyard. Cheers!
Yorkshire Heart Vineyard & Brewery
Yorkshire Heart is an award-winning vineyard and brewery based near Nun Monkton between York and Harrogate. The family-run vineyard is cared for by an incredibly passionate and dedicated team who produce wines that are loved by many throughout Yorkshire and beyond.
Visitors are more than welcome to bring their furry friends to the vineyard, the Winehouse Café and the annual Hearty Festival. Look out for resident labradors, Jazz and Molly, who can often be spotted helping out around the site.
stay at bogg hall barn: A beautiful barn conversion set in 3.5 acres of land overlooking the Vale of Pickering
Great for groups, if you want to spend more time with your friends and family exploring North Yorkshire, this once derelict range of chalk and brick barns has undergone major renovation work in order to become the ultimate in luxurious self-catered accommodation.

Pant Du
Pant Du vineyard and orchard is located on the stunning slopes of the Nantlle Valley in Snowdonia and is one of our favourite (not just because it’s local) dog friendly vineyards in the UK. With breathtaking views of Snowdon and the surrounding mountains, as well as spectacular views of the sea across Caernarfon Bay, it’s an idyllic location for a day out with your dog.
Four-legged friends are welcome to join you on one of the guided tours to learn about the variety of apple trees and vines planted on the slopes of Pant Du. Afterwards, book a table on the patio at the café for a bite to eat. The menu is always delicious and there’s doggy ice creams too.

The Longbarn at Caerfallen is the perfect place from which to explore the Vale of Clwyd, Snowdonia and the North Wales coast. From nearby mountains and castles, to beautiful lakes and the stunning coastline, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to dog walks and adventures.

Burn Valley Vineyard
Located a mere four miles from the North Norfolk coast, combine a beachside stroll with a visit to beautiful Burn Valley Vineyard. Dogs on leads are welcome to join you at wine tasting events where you’ll get an insight into the winemaking process and sample the range of latest vintages.
Pack a few treats or you may find that your pup is a little too keen to share the accompanying charcuterie platter. And keep an out for Tuva, the Burn Valley husky, who likes to lend a paw with stripping leaves from the Solaris vines.

The Sugar Loaf Vineyards
Set on the lower slopes of the Sugar Loaf overlooking Abergavenny, we highly recommend a visit to The Sugar Loaf Vineyards, especially following a walk up the most recognisable peak in the Black Mountains.
Take a self guided tour of the vineyard anytime during opening hours. You’ll get a fascinating insight into growing vines in the UK’s cooler climate. Alternatively, drop in for a tasting of some award-winning Welsh wines or choose from one of their many homemade cakes. We can confirm they are absolutely delicious.
stay at the priory hotel: A former Caerleon monastery brimming with character
The Priory is nestled within the historic town of Caerleon on the River Usk. Founded by Hywel ap Iorwerth, a Welsh prince, and dating back to 1180, this now welcoming dog friendly hotel started life as a Cistercian monastery. Many of the original features have been retained and sit seamlessly alongside more modern additions.

Greyfriars Vineyard
Greyfriars Vineyard was originally planted in 1989 and has been producing exceptional wines for over 30 years now. Located on the sunny south facing chalk slopes of the Hog’s Back at Puttenham, just outside of Guildford in Surrey, Greyfriars is open for tours, tastings and events.
While dogs can’t accompany you on official tours of the vineyard, they are welcome on self-guided tours around the vines. Pop to the Cellar Door anytime between 10am and 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and collect a map. It’s free of charge and should take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. Finish with a glass of wine and something to nibble at one of the outdoor picnic tables.
Valley Farm Vineyards
Valley Farm Vineyard is owned by Adrian who welcomes visitors either by arrangement or spontaneously. Nestled in an idyllic part of Suffolk, not far from the coast at Southwold in the Waveney Valley, the vineyard specialises in producing quality grapes for still white and rosé, sparkling white and sparkling rosé wines.
Friendly dogs on leads are more than welcome to partake in a tour. We recommend the ‘pizza and tour’. Enjoy a guided tour and a tasting session, followed by building your own pizza which is then cooked for you in the wood-fired oven. We’ll leave it up to you whether you share a morsel or two with your four-legged friend.
stay at retreat east: Idyllic escapes in the heart of the Suffolk countryside
Surrounded by thirty-five acres of idyllic Suffolk countryside, Retreat East is a unique resort for a dog friendly getaway. Previously a working 16th century farm, it’s now home to seventeen thoughtfully-restored, luxury barns and cottages. We particularly love The Coop with its glorious outdoor bath.

Polgoon Vineyard & Orchard
Polgoon is dedicated to producing a range of artisan Cornish wines, ciders and juices on the family-run vineyard and orchard in Penzance. The guided vineyard tour provides a fascinating insight into the activities of a working vineyard and orchard or you may prefer to discover the delights at your own pace with a self-guided tour.
Dogs on leads are more than welcome around the vineyard but not inside the shop or the winery. If you want to pop inside, there’s always a dog bowl with fresh water located outside the shop and somewhere to tie them up. Treat yourself to a light bite and a glass of wine at Vine House Kitchen – the outside seating area is the perfect place for a pit stop on a sunny day.
