Good to know

Overview

The Longbarn at Caerfallen sleeps six people in three spacious bedrooms – all ensuite – and two dogs are welcome to accompany you for a small fee. With one bedroom located on the ground floor, and the two upstairs bedrooms accessed via separate staircases, the owners suggest that the property is not ideal for children under the age of eight. However, babes in arms are very welcome and a cot and high chair can be provided.

With so much to do on the doorstep, you’d be forgiven for overlooking the beauty of the building. However, it’s clear that the owners have gone to great lengths to renovate the property to an extremely high standard. It offers both luxury and functionality.

The double-height, open plan living and dining area, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and doors that open up on to the terrace, is the perfect space to relax in or to gather for dinner, drinks and to socialise.

With the well-equipped kitchen a sliding door away, the ‘chef’ will still feel part of the group. The underfloor-heated utility room is on the other side of the kitchen and has a stable door, perfect if you want to keep your four-legged friend tucked up but still close by.

In the summertime, the covered outdoor dining area off the utility room and the barn-wide patio both provide perfect spots for BBQs and al fresco dining (help yourself to The Longbarn’s herb garden if rustling up something special) while your four-legged friend explores the enclosed garden.

For The Dogs

Two four-legged friends are welcome to accompany you on a trip to The Longhorn at Caerfallen for a small fee of £25 per stay for one dog and £35 for two.

There’s an additional 30 acres dogs to explore from December through to March, until the sheep and lambs take up residence.
