North Wales welcomes many dogs on days out and holidays but where to go in between walks, hikes, beachside strolls and countryside rambles?
You need a paw-fect pit stop that welcomes four-legged friends and provides them with a cosy corner – and a dog treat or two – to rest their weary paws before embarking on the next adventure. Here are seven of our favourite dog friendly coffee shops in North Wales.

If you are searching for the perfect coffee shop in Llandudno to sit back and relax in, or to fuel you up for a North Wales adventure, Providero Coffeehouse is the place to go. Conveniently located on one of the town’s main streets, you can enjoy speciality tea, the best coffee, breakfast, lunch or cake, seven days a week.
Dogs are one hundred percent guaranteed a fuss from the canine-loving team and there’s dog bowls and treats available. There’s plenty of space inside the coffeehouse for even the largest of dogs so your four-legged friend will never feel overcrowded.

A firm favourite with four-legged visitors to Rhosneigr, Café Notes is also a huge hit with hungry humans too. Serving fresh and healthy produce sourced from local providers, whether you choose to eat-in, sit on the terrace, or take your meal away, you can be assured that each ingredient has been thoughtfully chosen and lovingly prepared.
There’s puppacinos, treats and bowls of water for canine companions but add a rasher of bacon or a sausage to your order if they’re feeling peckish. And keep an eye out for resident pooch, Reggie, often spotted snoozing in the sun.

Designed by Sir William Clough Ellis to compliment the architecture of Portmerion, Conwy Falls Café is not only housed in a beautiful building, it’s perfectly positioned to offer walkers and adventure seekers a place to fill up or rest weary legs (and paws) when visiting Snowdonia National Park.
While it’s warm and cosy inside the café, especially if the fire is lit, you can’t beat the views from the window seats – or out on the terrace – of impressive Moel Siabod rising above the nearby village of Dolwyddelan. You’ll also find tables and benches in the meadow if your four-legged friend prefers the fresh air.

One of Conwy’s hidden gems, Cantîn is one of our favourite places to head for a drink or a bite to eat when visiting this historic market town with our pooches. Located within the Conwy Culture Centre, while four-legged friends aren’t allowed inside, the sheltered outdoor space is über dog friendly with plenty of room for four-legged friends to comfortably snooze at your feet while you drink or dine.
Choose your table and then head to the Mut Hut to pick up a dog bed, a biscuit and a bowl of water for your dog. There are blankets for human guests too.

Simple on the outside but truly stunning on the inside, Café R is a dog friendly eatery situated within the walls of Ruthin Craft Centre.
Dog friendly both inside and out, it’s a lovely sociable space to put your paws up and enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat.
We particularly love the breakfasts if you’re in the area before midday. Ask for an extra rasher for your four-legged friend!

Look through the windows of Riverbanc in Llangollen and you’d be forgiven for thinking that it’s a dinky little coffee shop.
However, walk through to the back and you’ll be amazed at the roomy terrace with incredible views over the River Dee. On a sunny day, there’s few places nicer.
Dogs must be kept on a lead but treat them to a doggy ice cream and we don’t think they’ll mind.

We’ll start with a strong statement about this gem near Holywell: it has the best coffee cake we’ve tasted … and the DFD team have sampled many.
For your pooch, there’s a separate space so they can dine amongst friends … humans and four-legged. Bowls, biscuits and their very own doggy menu await.
