Practically paw-fect, both dogs and their owners will love a stay at The Farmhouse at A Corner of Eden in the heart of Cumbria’s Eden Valley. Equidistant between the Pennines, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, if you can tear yourself away from the stunning grade II listed building and its surroundings, you’re positively spoilt for choice for dog friendly destinations to explore.

For dogs...

There are no restrictions on the number of dogs that can accompany you on your stay but you may want to consider the size of the cottage.

Four-legged friends are provided with their very own doggie welcome hamper which includes bowls, towels, and treats.

This idyllic stay took the top spot in the Dog Friendly Accommodation of the Year category at the Staycation Awards.

For humans...

Guests receive one of the best welcome baskets we’ve ever experienced … champagne, cake and an abundance of local goodies.

Good to know

Overview

A warm and welcoming Georgian abode, you’ll feel your shoulders relax the moment you step foot in The Farmhouse. With sink-in-to sofas in the living room and a huge open fireplace in the dining room, there are cosy corners galore and swoon worthy features aplenty. In the kitchen, there’s a large Rangemaster cooker for rustling up family feasts but if cooking’s not for you, owners Debbie and Richard can offer great recommendations for dog friendly pubs or takeaway options. A private chef is also a possibility.

The four beautifully decorated bedrooms feature original fireplaces, sumptuous wallpapers, and beds that you want to dive into – flip a coin to see who gets a comfy lie in and who has to get up and do the early morning dog walk. A travel cot can be provided if you’re bringing a baby or toddler. Dogs must stay downstairs though, sorry, and should not be left alone at The Farmhouse.

Dogs will love lounging by the wood burner in the living room, but the enclosed walled garden is sure to tempt you all outdoors. It looks out onto an amazing vista of sheep-filled fields and the fells beyond. It really is a corner of Eden, albeit in Cumbria.

You’ll be welcomed at The Farmhouse with a basket bursting with local goodies and champagne but walk over to the Honesty Shed Shop for more tempting treats and handmade gifts.
