It's a great place to escape to in warmer months as the tree canopy offers shade from the North Wales’ sunshine. The river is also great for cooling hot paws!

Overview
There are a few different trails to choose from: a very small loop perfect for toddlers or those that simply fancy a 15 minute stroll, a circular walk that takes you right to the top of Loggerheads, and a third that leads you to Devil’s Gorge. Or you can choose your very own route that combines all three.
The circular walk is quite a climb no matter which way you head. However, the reward is the most amazing view of neighbouring Moel Famau. We suggest keeping dogs on a lead near the summit due to the sudden drop down the cliff face.
The Devil’s Gorge walk, which is well signposted and approximately two miles long, follows a reasonably flat forest path. When you reach the wooden bridge, cross over to the gorge. The two solid limestone walls are 30 metres high and popular with rock climbers. It’s best to put your dog on a lead at this point. If you dare, sneak in for a closer look at the old lead mines.
Before you leave, stop by Caffi Florence for a drink or an ice cream. Four-legged friends aren’t allowed inside but there’s lots of outdoor seating. Or perhaps pack a picnic and bring a blanket to sit on.

If you want to be close to the coast, Llandudno and Conway are just over 40 miles away and both boast beautiful walks and colourful streets to explore.
