Visit Website

Delightfully rural but with easy access to the North Wales coast, Eryri and Cheshire, Ein Cynefin is an exquisite holiday home for ten nestled in the Flintshire countryside. Few neighbours and extraordinary views out to the impressive Clwydian Range, mean this lovingly restored country house offers both privacy and luxury for an idyllic getaway.

For dogs...

Two dogs are welcome to join you at Ein Cynefin for a fee of £40 per dog per stay. More than two dogs? Simply enquire as the owners are open to making exceptions.

One dog bed is kept at the property for you to use, along with dog bowls, treats and poop bags.

The large garden is mostly enclosed meaning canine companions can safely sniff around. Surrounded by farmland, you may want to keep a close eye on them, though.

For humans...

Featured in The Times as one of the best places to get away with family and friends, Ein Cynefin is perfect for mixed groups wanting to spend time together.

With five beautiful bedrooms (two king size, two doubles, and one twin) all benefitting from an ensuite bathroom, there’ll be no arguing over who gets the best room.

Good to know

Overview

Downstairs, there’s plenty of space to socialise or to seek out a cosy corner to enjoy a little peace and quiet – be prepared to leave with window seat envy! The formal sitting room is one of our favourite spaces with its comfy sofas arranged around the fireplace hearth.

However, if you want to keep an eye on your four-legged friend out in the garden, the neighbouring informal lounge is the place to perch. It has a spectacular French door that opens onto the terrace. Alternatively, seek out the snug if you’re keen to keep up with your favourite show or watch a film. It has a smart TV with Netflix.

The beautiful kitchen is a joy to cook in with an electric oven and induction hob, Belfast sink, separate island with breakfast bar, and an all-important coffee machine. The Melin Tregwynt textiles and the Welsh slate and flagstone pantry add a touch of local character to the room.

You can choose to congregate around the large kitchen table for meals, or instead opt for the more opulent dining room. Despite its grand size, it has a lovely cosy feel making it the ultimate setting for dinner parties that last well into the night. A private chef can be arranged upon request. Keen pianists may wish to provide entertainment on the baby grand piano in the hallway.

When holidaying with extended family or friends, it can often be a rush to bag the best bedroom. Not at Ein Cynefin. All five bedrooms are generous in size, beautiful in styling, and come with their very own ensuites with decadent tubs for lazy soaks.

If it’s views that you’re after, the Autumn Bedroom overlooks the gardens across to Moel Famau, while bookworms may prefer the quiet calm of the Apricot Bedroom tucked away at the back of the house overlooking the neighbouring sheep-filled fields.

Outside, there is a secluded terrace. It’s an idyllic spot to sit with your morning coffee – or evening gin and tonic – and admire the unspoilt views over the gardens and rolling fields. There’s a table and chairs for alfresco dining too.

The large garden is mostly enclosed, but as it is surrounded by working farmland, we recommend that someone in the group keeps a close eye on any pups prone to escaping.

The Area

Nestled within the North Wales countryside with panoramic views over to the Clwydian Range, you couldn’t ask for a more idyllic setting for a family holiday. While you might be content with admiring Moel Famau from the terrace, a climb to the top isn’t as taxing as what you may think. If you want to be close to the coast, Llandudno and Conway are just over 40 miles away and both boast beautiful walks and colourful streets to explore. Alternatively, a short drive over the border into England, you’ll find the historic city of Chester with a plethora of dog friendly eateries. Why not take your pup on a scenic walk along Chester City Walls?
