Overview
If your pup is yet to earn their sea legs, a visit to The Boathouse Café Bar is the next best thing. A welcoming waterside café and bar, the food is delicious and the views incredible … especially on a sunny day when you can sit outside at one of the covetable tables overlooking the marina. Pooches will love watching the narrowboats and the ducks go by.
Head in the morning if breakfast or brunch are your thing – they’re definitely ours! We love The Big Boater full English breakfast. The paninis are our favourites at lunch time but the traditional afternoon tea available Tuesday to Saturday is extra special. There’s a range of beers, ales and spirits to sample from local Cheshire based distilleries too.
Afterwards, take your four-legged friend on a stroll through the Cheshire countryside along the Shropshire Union Canal towpath. Grab a coffee-to-go and an extra slice of cake to take with you. And pop one of the Boathouse’s doggy treats in your pocket for your pooch to nibble on.
