Nestled in the Herefordshire countryside near Ledbury, Long Barn offers a delightful blend of rustic charm and modern comforts. With its cosy interiors, peaceful outdoor space and warm welcome for up to two dogs, this rural retreat is perfect for a relaxing getaway with family or friends. Whether enjoying the open plan living space or unwinding on the private patio, it's a chance to slow down and switch off with your favourite people.

For dogs...

Two pooches are welcome to join you at Long Barn for a small fee of £20 per dog per stay. Bowls, towels and treats will be waiting for your four-legged friends.

Prior to your stay, you’ll be sent a link to the White House Cottages guide book which includes an abundance of suggestions for days trips and activities to enjoy with your dog.

There are three further dog friendly properties at White House Cottages – Hop Pickers Cottage, Welsh Cottage and Hop Store Cottage – which can be booked together with Long Barn.

For humans...

We love the blend of old and new, with the exposed beams throughout the barn complemented by the simple but chic interiors.

Relax in the peaceful walled garden: enjoy a morning coffee which your pooch sniffs their way around, or a glass of wine while admiring the sunset.

Bikes – including a tag-along dog trailer – can be hired from the owners if you’d like to indulge in a spot of cycling during your stay.

Long Barn is a charming countryside retreat that seamlessly blends historic character with contemporary living. Nestled within the peaceful grounds of White House Holiday Cottages, just a stone’s throw from the vibrant town of Ledbury, this two-bedroom haven offers the perfect escape for families, friends and their four-legged companions.

Step inside, and you’ll find a spacious open plan living area that exudes warmth and comfort. Relax on the plush sofas by the gas-fired log burner, or gather around the dining table to enjoy a delicious meal prepared in the fully equipped kitchen, complete with modern appliances.

The beautifully appointed bedrooms – one double and one triple – promise a restful night’s sleep. Thoughtfully designed with soft linens and plenty of natural light, each room is a cosy sanctuary after a day of exploration.

Outside, Long Barn’s private patio offers a tranquil spot to sip your morning coffee or savour a glass of wine as the sun sets. The shared walled garden is a haven for dogs and humans alike, providing a greenery-surrounded space to relax or let your furry friends stretch their legs.

For those eager to explore, the Malvern Hills and the Forest of Dean are just a short drive away, offering breathtaking scenery, walking trails and outdoor adventures. And with Ledbury’s delightful mix of independent shops, eateries and historic charm close by, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

For The Dogs

Two dogs are welcome at Long Barn for an additional charge of £20 per dog per stay.

Bowls, towels and treats, as well as blankets to pop on the sofa, will be waiting for your four-legged friends but please bring all other doggy equipment with you.

The walled garden is shared with the other cottages but has plenty of space for your pooch to stretch their legs.

There’s a Woofer Wash with a warm shower to hose mucky pups, if needed … autumn/winter walks in the countryside can often be a muddy affair.

With lots of dog friendly places to explore nearby, canine companions will  have a tail-wagging time accompanying you on your trip.

The Area

The area surrounding Long Barn is a treasure trove for nature lovers and culture seekers alike. Explore the rolling Malvern Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, for scenic dog walks and breathtaking views. The historic market town of Ledbury is just a short drive away, with its cobbled streets, black-and-white timbered buildings and a thriving arts scene. Foodies will enjoy the local cider mills and farm shops, while history buffs can visit Eastnor Castle or the nearby historic city of Hereford, home to its famous cathedral and the Mappa Mundi.
