The museum warmly welcomes furry companions, making it a brilliant dog friendly destination. The serene surroundings are perfect for leisurely waterside strolls and there’s a lovely play area for two-legged little ones as well.
Don’t leave without popping to the café, where the menu includes freshly made sandwiches, traditional pasties, and the best chips! There are tables indoors but when the weather is good, you’ll want to sit outside and enjoy the view.

For The Dogs
There are water bowls and doggy treats available for four-legged friends in the café, and quite possibly the warmest welcome we’ve ever received. The wonderful staff are HUGE dog lovers.

The Area
Take a stroll along the Shropshire Union Canal towpath … you can walk right into Chester! Alternatively, Eastham Country Park is a short drive away from the museum. With open fields for dogs to enjoy off lead play as well as nature trails and woodland walks, there’s plenty for furry friends to investigate. As the park is located on the banks (Wirral side) of the River Mersey, you’re spoilt with spectacular views across the estuary, too.
