Visitors to this local gem of a pub are welcome to bring their four-legged friends. There are dog friendly tables inside and out on the terrace. Drop by for a drink at the bar after a refreshing walk along nearby Borth Wen, a pretty, sandy beach within easy walking distance of the pub. Or take a seat and relax with a sharing platter for two or a three course meal in the cosy dining area. The terrace is hard to beat on a sunny day and the staff will happily bring your four-legged friend a bowl of water and some tasty treats.
The menu changes depending on the season and features the best of British cuisine while showcasing the pub’s relationship with local farms and producers. The hand battered cod with chunky chips, homemade tartar sauce and mushy peas is hard to beat although the Rhoscolyn crab comes a close second. Save room for a selection of Mon Ar Lwy ice cream and sorbets – you’ll want to opt for the three scoops, trust us.

The Area
Before or after your visit to the The White Eagle in Rhoscolyn, treat your pooch to a walk along nearby Borth Wen; a pretty, sandy crescent located on the southern shore of Holyhead island. Silver Bay, just over a mile away, is also one of our favourites. It’s somewhat hidden and only accessible from the Coastal Path but it’s well worth trying to find as the oval shaped beach offers stunning views of the Snowdonia mountain range. You can even see Snowdon itself on a clear day.
