Visit Website

With views over the North York Moors National Park and the Esk Valley, and the dramatic Yorkshire coastline a short drive away, The Piggery is one of five properties that make up the paw-fectly located Unique Retreats. Sleeping six people and welcoming four furry friends, this 200-year-old former farm labourer’s cottage is the ideal size for a family holiday or a get-together with friends.

For dogs...

Four dogs are welcome at The Piggery for an additional charge of £50 per dog per stay. A bed, bowls, towels and treats will be waiting for your four-legged friends.

There is a secure lawned area to the rear so children and dogs can safely play, and a private garden at the front in which to sit and soak up the morning sun.

With countryside walks on the doorstep and the coast a quick drive away, it’s a fantastic location for a dog friendly holiday.

For humans...

We particularly love that while there’s space to gather together, The Piggery has many cosy corners to snuggle up with a book … or with your dog.

The views over the sheep-filled pastures and wooded moorland make the bedrooms particularly relaxing spaces to spend time in.

There are four further dog friendly properties at Unique Retreats which can be booked together with The Piggery.

Good to know

Overview

Both dogs and their owners will adore the light and airy open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, where you’ll be welcomed with a plentiful hamper and warm, freshly baked bread. The well-equipped kitchen, with its exposed beams, is a dream to cook in while the large oak dining table is a lovely setting for delicious family meals or fun board games. With patio doors leading out on to the terrace, your pup can be part of the pack with easy access to the outdoor space whenever they’re in need of fresh air.

The separate living room is the place to put your feet – and paws – up at the end of a busy day and watch your favourite Netflix show on the smart TV or use the iPad to stream your favourite tracks through the bluetooth speakers. There are three comfy sofas and a glorious open fire for canine companions to snooze in front of.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, both with king size beds, crisp Egyptian cotton bedding and ensuite bathrooms with Elemis toiletries for guests to use. There’s also a third bedroom with a shower room on the ground floor.

The Piggery has a large, glazed balcony leading off the kitchen where you can fire up the Weber BBQ or enjoy your favourite tipple from the honesty bar while watching the sunset – and the steam train that passes by regularly just a few fields away.

For The Dogs
