Overview
Teacup Tearoom is run by husband and wife team, David and Lis, who pride themselves on working with local suppliers to source the freshest ingredients that showcase the very best of Cornwall. Our top tip? Indulge in a delicious homemade Cornish cream tea or perhaps a fresh-from-the-sea crab sandwich.
There’s fifty different types of teas and infusions to choose from, including the locally grown Tregothnan tea, as well as three different blends of coffee, one specifically roasted for the tearoom by Mevagissey Coffee. If you don’t have time to sit awhile, takeaway is an option too.
For us, the best thing about Teacup Tearoom is how thoroughly welcome four-legged friends are. So much so that it’s won two awards for being the most dog friendly business in Cornwall. And don’t leave without checking out the teaware. We absolutely adore the handmade tea cosies!
For The Dogs
Dogs can cosy on up in the comfy dog beds while you sip on your tea. There’s blankets for them too, and towels on wet days. They’re not forgotten about when it comes to treats either. Pick up a couple of grain-free tidbits for them while you’re browsing the cakes.

The Area
Mevagissey itself is a beautiful town with a charming harbour that’s more than worthy of stroll along to admire the fishing boats bobbing in the water. It’s home to Cornwall’s pilchard fishery so expect your four-legged friend to want to stop and sniff at ever step. A short drive away, you’ll find two beautiful gardens to visit – the Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project.
