Overview
The menu at Tamar Lake Café is simple but delicious, featuring hearty breakfast baps, generously-filled rolls and yummy cream teas (it is Cornwall, after all). However, it’s the cakes that really steal the show. Freshly baked and heavenly tasting, order a slice to takeaway if you can’t manage another morsel while you’re there.
While delightful inside, if the sun is shining, the patio is the place to be. Choose your favourite table and enjoy the view of the lake while sipping on your freshly brewed coffee, or devouring a cone full of locally produced Farmer Tom’s ice cream. There’s doggy ice cream for four-legged friends too, so no need to worry about them being left out.
Please note, both outdoors at the café and when walking around Tamar Lakes, dogs must be kept on a lead.
For The Dogs
There are water bowls available … and a big fuss from the pooch-loving staff.

Follow the waymarked trails around the shorelines of Tamar Lakes. We particularly like the circular route around Upper Tamar Lake. It’s approximately 5 km in length and really family-friendly, if you’re walking with children too. Alternatively, the Bude Aqueduct Trail starts and finishes at Tamar Lakes. A picturesque circular walk of around 10 miles, it passes through Dunsdon Nature Reserve and Bude itself.
