There are places you go to relax, and then there are places your dog asks to come back to. Redhill Retreat is firmly in the second category. Three luxury micro cabins sit looking out over the water of Loch Rannoch, surrounded by ancient woodland and with the majestic Schiehallion rising up behind. This is adults-only, off-grid Scotland at its most quietly spectacular.

For dogs...

Two dogs are welcome in each cabin at no extra charge. Dog bowls, towels and treats are provided on arrival, and the setting does the rest.

Loch Rannoch, ancient forest trails and the wide open Rannoch Moor are all on the doorstep.

Farm animals live on the retreat, so dogs need to be kept on a lead when outside the cabins. Given what’s out there to explore, they won’t mind one bit.

For humans...

Three thoughtfully designed micro cabins, each with a king size bed, a private bathroom and its own outdoor space looking out over Loch Rannoch.

The sauna is shared between guests and included in your stay.

Inside each cabin, everything has been considered for a self-sufficient highland escape, with quality linens and the kind of stillness that’s genuinely hard to find anywhere else.

Overview

Redhill Retreat is a collection of three luxury micro cabins set in the Scottish Highlands near Rannoch, Perthshire, looking out over the stunning waters of Loch Rannoch. Built with care for both guests and the environment, the retreat sits in one of Scotland’s most remote and unspoiled corners, surrounded by ancient woodland and with Schiehallion, one of Scotland’s most iconic munros, visible from the site.

The three cabins are named Kin, Loch and Rannoch. Each sleeps two adults, with one bedroom, one private bathroom, a kitchenette and its own outdoor space. The site is adults-only throughout. All three cabins can be booked together for a larger group of up to six, making this a rare option for friends or family who want individual privacy within a shared setting.

A woodland sauna is available on site and included in the nightly rate for all guests. The surrounding area offers some of Perthshire’s finest walking, from a gentle stroll to the loch shore to longer forest trails through the Rannoch Forest at Carie, just three miles from Kinloch Rannoch, where trail-marked circular walks wind through mixed and ancient woodland beside a beautiful stream.

For The Dogs

Two dogs are welcome per cabin at no extra charge. Dog bowls, towels and treats are provided.

The walking from the retreat is exceptional for dogs. A walk to the loch shore is on the doorstep, and the Rannoch Forest trails at Carie offer off-lead walking in ancient woodland with plenty to keep even the most curious nose occupied.

The Area

Redhill Retreat sits in one of the most genuinely remote corners of Scotland, and that’s precisely the point. Loch Rannoch stretches out in front of you, Schiehallion rises to the east and the Rannoch Forest offers some of Perthshire’s best dog walking right on the doorstep. The Rannoch Forest trails at Carie are three miles from Kinloch Rannoch on the south shore of the loch. Trail-marked circular walks range from an easy half-mile loop through woodland beside a beautiful stream to the longer Allt Na Bogair route, a five-mile moderate circular through plantation and ancient oak woodland following a burnside gorge. Red squirrels are a regular sighting along the way. Beyond the forest, the wider Rannoch and Tummel area rewards those who take the time to explore it.
