Glencoe Lochan is a peaceful, picture-perfect spot tucked just outside the village of Glencoe, and is ideal for a relaxed stroll with your four-legged friend. Surrounded by a mix of native and North American trees, this forest-fringed loch feels like a little slice of Canada in the heart of the Highlands. It’s especially magical on misty or rainy days, offering a sheltered escape with stunning views.
There are three short, waymarked trails to choose from:
Lochan Trail (1.6 km): Flat and easy, perfect for families or a gentle stroll
Mountain Trail (1.6 km): A bit more of a climb with rewarding views
Woodland Trail (1.6 km): A peaceful meander through the trees
Each trail showcases a different side of this hidden gem, with reflections on the loch, glimpses of the surrounding mountains, and calming woodland scenes. Pack a picnic and make the most of the quiet picnic spots, or treat yourself to a bite at nearby Crafts & Things, a cosy little café just down the road.
