One of five properties that make up the brilliantly located Unique Retreats, Ewelands House sleeps six people and welcomes four furry friends. This luxurious cottage is perfect for family holidays or get-togethers. It can be booked together with Ewelands Retreat to form one larger holiday home that sleeps eight humans and gives you access to the retreat’s enclosed garden.

For dogs...

Four dogs are welcome at Ewelands House for an additional charge of £50 per dog per stay.

Four-legged guests receive their very own welcome hamper featuring holiday dog tags, an LED collar, a toy, doggy shampoo, towels, treats, bowls and poop bags.

There are throws to pop on the sofa and chairs if your pup prefers to snuggle up next to you.

For humans...

Look out for thoughtful touches like wellies, umbrellas and guide books for you to use during your stay.

Spend time on the large balcony taking in the views over the sheep-filled pastures and wooded moorland.

Overview

At the heart of Ewelands House is a large open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area. It’s the ideal space in which to sit back and relax at the end of a busy day. The modern kitchen has everything needed to rustle up a family feast – if you’re not tempted by the local pub – and the dining table comfortably seats six.

In the sitting area, there are two cloud-like sofas for the two-legged and a cosy spot next to the wood burner to pop your four-legged friend’s bed or blanket. Chilled evenings are guaranteed whether you choose to watch your favourite Netflix show on the smart TV, pick a film from the DVD collection, or use the iPad to stream your favourite tracks through the bluetooth speakers.

The cottage has three bedrooms: a spacious master suite on the top floor with a king size bed, a freestanding tub and an ensuite shower room, and two bedrooms on the first floor – a pretty king size and one with zip and link beds which can be made up as a super king or as a twin. There is also a further shower room with a walk-in power shower and Elemis toiletries for guests to use.

Ewelands House has a large glazed balcony leading off the living area. It’s the perfect spot to sit with a cup of tea and admire the breath-taking views over the North York Moors National Park and the Esk Valley, or to enjoy dinner al fresco and sip on your favourite tipple from the honesty bar while your canine companion snoozes in the sunshine.
