Crathorne, Yarm, North Yorkshire, TS15 0AR
Visit WebsiteBuilt in 1906, the stately Crathorne Hall Hotel is set in 15 acres of private grounds on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors. This grand hall, that once played host to royalty, wealthy socialites and politicians, is now a warm and welcoming retreat. It’s perfect for a relaxing dog friendly break and has a whole host of incredible walks on the doorstep to enjoy.
Two dogs per room are welcome to join you at Crathorne Hall Hotel for a fee of £20 per night for your first pooch and £10 per night for a second.
All four-legged guests receive a cushion, a bowl, some tasty treats and even a personalised letter from the General Manager.
Dog friendly dining is available in the Nancy Tennant Bar, once the original billiards room at Crathorne Hall.
Owned by the Dugdale family until 1977, the hall has played host to politicians, courted royalty, and delighted socialites over the decades.
With only 37 bedrooms, while grand in size, the hotel has a very boutique feel in atmosphere.
Christmas is a truly special affair at Crathorne, with wonderful packages for you and your four-legged friend to truly indulge.
Overview
Part of the Hand Picked Hotels group, Crathorne Hall Hotel prides itself on offering four-legged guests the same five star service as their owners. The dog friendly bedrooms have been selected for their direct access to the beautiful outdoor space.
There’s no need to bring a dog bed with you as you’ll find one waiting for you in your room, along with a cushion, a bowl, some tasty treats and even a personalised letter from the General Manager.
During your stay, enjoy a light lunch, dinner or drinks in the dog friendly Nancy Tennant Bar. It’s the hub of the mansion and there’s no nicer spot to enjoy a tipple or two than by the fire while your canine companion snoozes after a busy day.
Outdoors, a visit to the sunken garden is a must, and your pup will love a pre-breakfast or post-dinner meander around the woodland walk. Keep your eye out for beehives, bird nest boxes and a sapling plantation (planted in partnership with The Woodland Trust), all found within the grounds of this beautiful country house hotel.

Outside of the bedroom, you must keep your canine companion on a lead at all times within the hotel itself and when walking the grounds.
A stay at Crathorne Hall Hotel means you’re within easy reach of the stunning Cleveland Hills and Cleveland Way. The Cleveland Way National Trail is a 109 mile walking route that starts at Helmsley and ends on Filey Brigg. Roseberry Topping is a Matterhorn-shaped hill with spectacular views across North Yorkshire and Cleveland. It’s located just under 12 miles from Crathorne Hall Hotel, and we’d definitely recommend finding the time for a climb during your stay.
