The short 3-mile loop (about an hour) is ideal for a quick escape, but for those feeling more adventurous, the longer 5.5 mile route takes you on a more challenging trek with higher elevation gains. As you ascend through the rugged landscapes surrounding Coniston, you’ll encounter the fascinating remains of the old copper mines.
The extended trail can be moderately challenging with some steeper sections, but even the shorter route delivers jaw-dropping views. Along the way, you’ll pass iconic landmarks like the Copper Mines Heart Stone, the Heritage Waterwheel, and the Mountain Cottages.
