The dog friendly bedrooms are perfectly placed for exploring the hotel’s gardens and nearby woodland paths – ideal for morning strolls and evening sniffs.

Pooches are welcomed with a bed and bowls, and those staying on the Tails & Trails Break receive an extra-special gift set with treats, a toy and an adorable Harbour Hounds doggy dry robe.

There’s plenty to explore nearby, from the tranquil Helford River to dog friendly beaches just a short drive away.

The hotel’s dog friendly rooms are thoughtfully designed to make both humans and hounds feel at home, with easy garden access for morning strolls and plenty of space to stretch out after a day of exploring. For a truly tail-wagging stay, the Tails & Trails Break is a brilliant option, offering a two-night dog friendly escape where your pup stays free and is well and truly spoiled.

Each four-legged guest receives a warm welcome with a bed and bowls, while Tails & Trails guests can expect a little extra, including a doggy gift set with treats and a toy, plus a cosy Harbour Hounds dry robe for post-walk cuddles. Humans, meanwhile, can enjoy all the thoughtful touches Budock Vean is known for, from plush robes and comfy beds to luxury GAIA toiletries.

For those wanting a little more room to roam, the hotel’s contemporary self-catering lodges and traditional cottages offer added privacy and space – perfect for longer stays or family getaways – with full access to the same facilities enjoyed by hotel guests.

When it comes to dining, Budock Vean makes it easy to enjoy local flavours with your pup by your side. Dogs are welcome to join you for relaxed meals in the Conservatory or on the terrace overlooking the gardens, and Tails & Trails guests can also dine in-room with no tray charge.

For The Dogs

Four-legged guests are given a warm Cornish welcome at Budock Vean, complete with a bed and bowls waiting on arrival. The hotel’s peaceful gardens and nearby woodland trails make walkies a joy, with plenty of sniff-worthy spots to explore right from the doorstep. And when adventure calls, dog friendly beaches and riverside paths are just a short stroll or drive away.

Price

Hotel rooms start at £75 per night, plus £20 per dog per night. Lodge and cottage costs are season dependent with accompanying pooches incurring a fee of £70 per week.

Practicalities

Arrival & departure

Hotel rooms: Ready from 3pm for arrivals, with departure by 11am.
Self-catering: Ready from 5pm for arrivals and departure by 9:30am.

Parking

There is a large car park which is free for guests to use. Electric car charging points are available for a fee of 55p per kWh.

Special Instructions

Please note that the main restaurant is not dog friendly. However, there are other dining areas in which four-legged friends are warmly welcomed. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times in all public areas of the hotel.

The hotel is happy for you to leave your snoozing pooch alone in their room for an hour or two (if they’re content with being left), but please do not leave them for longer periods of time.

The Area

Set in one of Cornwall’s most picturesque corners, Budock Vean is surrounded by scenic walks, secret coves and dog friendly adventures waiting to be discovered. From the hotel, you can wander straight down to the Helford River for peaceful woodland trails and paddle spots your pup will love. A short drive takes you to the stunning beaches of Maenporth and Swanpool, both welcoming dogs outside of peak summer months, while year-round favourites like Grebe and Durgan beaches are perfect for sandy paws and sea swims. For a post-walk pick-me-up, Falmouth’s vibrant harbour is full of dog friendly cafés and pubs – the kind where no one bats an eyelid if there’s a soggy spaniel or two tucked under the table.
