Overview
Bethnal is the slightly larger of the two retreats with a decadent roll top bath taking centre stage at the end of the bed. Choose your favourite handmade bath bomb from the honesty pantry and soak away the stress while enjoying views over the surrounding countryside through the sweet post-box windows.
Or perhaps you’d prefer to watch TV from the tub? Both studios have a 43-inch flat screen smart TV complete with BBC iPlayer and Netflix and an accompanying DVD player and DVD library. Pour yourself a drink from the well-stocked drinks cabinet and cosy up in front of the wood burner and watch your favourite film.
Bec is the smaller of the two retreats but still as exquisite. Accompanying pups will love the open plan sleeping/living/kitchen area meaning they’re never without company. Although, you might want to sneak away and spend some time in the bath for two and enjoy the complimentary Aromatherapy Associates products.
You’ll find a vintage record player in each studio that can be paired with the provided Bluetooth speaker so you can choose your favourite tunes to sing along to while taking a dip. Bec also has its own cinema projector screen that can be watched from the comfort of your bed.
The kitchens are both small but sleek and perfectly primed with everything needed to rustle up breakfast in bed (when booking, you are invited to customise your very own complimentary breakfast basket) or cook a cosy dinner à deux from the dine-in menu – choose from DIY pizzas, grass-fed Angus steaks, locally-sourced gourmet burgers and many more options.
Both Bethnal and Bec have private hot tubs in dog friendly fenced gardens with views over the neighbouring wild flower meadow. With a double day bed for lazy afternoons during the summer months or to sit on around the fire pit in the winter, the outdoors space can be happily used in all seasons.

Surrounded by the rolling Hertfordshire countryside, there’s no shortage of walks and days out for you and your four-legged friend to enjoy while staying at Bethnal&Bec. The Hertfordshire Walker features walks suitable for all levels, from hour-long ambles to half-day hikes. Try the six mile Cottered S Loop. We’d also recommend a visit to Knebworth House, a lavish Tudor stately home and gardens. While dogs are not permitted in the house itself or the formal gardens, dogs on leads are welcome in beautiful Knebworth Park, home to Dogfest. Why not pack a picnic and make a day of it? You’re even allowed to bring disposable BBQs with you.
