Overview

Head on down to Birdhouse where you will be greeted by their friendly, welcoming staff for a relaxing, laid back and most importantly, dog friendly dining experience. Situated within a charming courtyard, on a sunny day, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a bite to eat.

Birdhouse offers a varied seasonal menu which caters to many dietary requirements (their vegan options are excellent!) and taste buds. Whether you are after something sweet or savoury, there’s sure to be something for you. We can, in particular, recommend the vegetarian brunch brioche and peach melba pancake stack.

Alongside serving tasty breakfasts, lunches and brunches, freshly made deserts and locally inspired drinks, this welcoming tea bar also stocks a wide variety of their own artisan loose leaf teas to purchase. Many of the teas pay homage to the city of Sheffield in which Birdhouse Tea Bar & Kitchen was founded. Some of our favourites include Full Monty, Kelham Island and House Chai.

For The Dogs

Birdhouse welcomes its four-legged customers with open arms. There’s a dedicated doggy refreshment area complete with treats, fresh water and even a ‘dogs of Birdhouse’ display board featuring many of its furry customers.

It’s worth noting that dogs are allowed in the courtyard and in the downstairs seating area, so be sure to book ahead to secure a suitable dog friendly table.

The Area

Why not get your Birdhouse to-go and head for a short walk up to The Peace Gardens. Dogs will need to remain on their leads here but it’s the perfect little spot in the middle of the bustling city to walk or to sit back and relax. You’ll find Sheffield Botanical Gardens one mile from the city centre. Dogs are welcome to join you in exploring the 19 acre grade II site of special historic and architectural interest. Entry is free and there are several winding paths to follow that take you through the many different garden areas featuring varying geographical and botanical themes.
