Eagle Brae

Eagle Brae is one of the few tourism destinations in the world that strives to offer largely carbon neutral holidays and is entirely self-sufficient in terms of utility and energy needs. A micro-hydro scheme provides electricity and hot water, while the water is sourced from a natural, sustainable underground supply and treated on-site before being gravity fed to the cabins. But there’s no compromising on comfort with sumptuous interiors, modern appliances and biomass wood-pellet burners providing underfloor heating throughout the characterful cabins.

Sleeping between two to six guests and up to three dogs depending on the size of the cabin you choose, you’ll be amazed by the attention to detail from handmade antler chandeliers to Himalayan wood carvings, not to mention the hamper brimming with local delicacies that you’ll find waiting for you upon arrival.

Open plan living spaces and comfy sofas invite you to curl up with a good book or simply relax and look for the wild deer passing by the cabin. Truly switching off is inevitable.

The modern kitchens feature all the utensils needed to cook up a storm or perhaps you’d prefer to enjoy an early evening dog walk and have the team at Eagle Brae deliver home cooked meals (and fine wines) to your door? It’s as simple as logging on to the intranet service and placing your order. Eat at the dining table or out on your private deck while enjoying the incredible views over beautiful Strathglass with your pup at your feet.

Eagle Brae’s very own Bernese Mountain Dog is a familiar face around the grounds and loves to make new friends. Owners Mike and Pawana are also on hand and happy to recommend nearby walks that your four-legged friend will love.

There is a fee of £30 per dog per stay and you will need to bring dog blankets and bowls with you, but we think it’s well worth it to spend time in this unique dog friendly destination.

Parking

There are private parking spots right outside each lodge.

Dogs are not allowed on the furniture at Eagle Brae. Sheep, wild deer and other animals roam free around the site so please keep your dog on a lead if they’re likely to give chase. All dogs must be kept on leads when walking in the wildflower meadow.
