We think you’ll love Spark:York; a vibrant collection of bars, street food stalls and shops located in a set of shipping containers in the heart of the city. Originally designed as a temporary community project to support independent retailers while re-energising the Piccadilly area, it will now stay in place giving many more people the opportunity to enjoy its unique atmosphere.
Overview
Four-legged friends are more than welcome to dine or drink with you in the outdoor seating area, although you might want to avoid busier hours or inclement weather if they’re not one for crowds or cold.
Take a tour of the food stalls to find your favourite(s) – it’s hard to pick just one. Burgers, pizzas, bagels, street food … the choice at Spark:York is vast, and changes too.
Grab a drink from the bar and pull up a seat at one of the many benches. You’ll have great time. And don’t leave without ambling round the indie retailers selling arts and crafts, rustic furniture, vintage clothing and hand made gifts. You’re sure to find a gem or two.
For The Dogs
There are water bowls for thirsty pups.
Opening Hours
Tuesday – Thursday: 12pm – 10.30pm
Friday & Saturday: 12pm – 11pm
Sunday: 12pm – 9pm
Parking
Paid parking is available in the area.
Looking for a lovely walk after your pit stop at Spark:York? You’re just five-minutes away from the award-winning York Museum Gardens with over ten acres of botanical gardens to explore. Dogs must be kept on their leads but it’s such a pretty place with so much to see (and sniff) that we don’t think they’ll mind. If your pup is partial to the wind in their fur, how about a sightseeing cruise? City Cruises York welcomes dogs on board for free. It’s a really lovely way to see the city from a different angle. If you like a ghost walk and your four-legged friend’s not easily spooked, you could try The Original Ghost Walk of York.
